FAA Approved Training
2 hours towards IA renewal
3 hours towards AMT awards
  • Based on Avionics News issues from 2002

  • Grade of 85% or better required for credit

  • Work Individually

  • Mail or fax answer sheet to Avionics News by February 19, 2003.

  • Submit AEA certificate of completion to local FSDO by February 28, 2003.

FAA approved training is available through the pages of Avionics News. In this issue we offer you, the reader, the opportunity to complete three hours of FAA approved training applicable towards the FAA AMT Awards program and two hours of approved training applicable towards your IA renewal. The process is painless and doesn't require travel or sitting in a classroom.
Simply refer to your back issues of Avionics News and / or www.aea.net/avionicsnews to complete the exam and you are on your way to receiving training credit. Avionics News, your source for the latest in avionics innovations, member news, regulatory affairs and educational topics, now offers off-the-shelf training, approved by the FAA.
Why FAA approved training? Because it's required, it's recognized and it has its rewards. If you are a Part 145 repair station you are likely familiar with the upcoming requirements for recurrent training. Why not get a head start on training without ever having to leave your office? While you satisfy your thirst for avionics knowledge you can simultaneously build hours towards the FAA AMT awards program and your IA renewal.
For more information on the FAA AMT rewards program visit http://www.faa.gov/FSDO/AWSP/amtac.htm or refer to FAA Advisory Circular 65-25B. An FAA AMT rewards application will accompany your Certificate of Completion.

How it works

  1. Gather your 2002 back issues and articles from Avionics News and/or download them from www.aea.net/avionicsnews/. Read each article in its entirety and use as a reference for the exam.

  2. Remove the tear-out exam from this issue and complete the attached answer sheet.

  3. Select only one choice that best answers each question.

  4. Mail your completed exam back to AEA Headquarters by February 19, 2003 for grading.

  5. If you have correctly answered 85 percent or more of the questions you will receive a certificate of completion from the AEA. Submit this certificate along with an AMT Awards application to your local FSDO. The deadline to apply at your FSDO for the AMT Awards program and your IA renewal credit is February 28, 2002

  6. Does not require membership in the AEA to participate.
